Duty-free in foreign online stores it will be possible to buy goods no more than 150 dollars / euro
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has agreed with the Russian government on the threshold of duty-free import of foreign Internet parcels at the level of $ 150, the head of the ministry, Alexei Ulyukaev, said in an interview with Prime agency. ITAR-TASS quoted the minister as saying that the cut-off price was reduced to 150 euros.
It should be noted that earlier the FCS was offered an amount of 200 euros, and the Ministry of Finance suggested reducing it to 150. Previously, the mark was 1,000 euros and 30 kg. It is also worth noting that last week it became knownthat the logistics operators DHL and FedEx stopped delivering to individuals in Russia purchases from foreign online stores. The reason for this step, according to delivery services, was the FCS tightened requirements for parcels of foreign online retailers. The FCS itself says that delivery requirements have not changed.
The deputy head of the Ministry of Communications, Mikhail Evraev, is sure that ordinary citizens ordering goods abroad will not be affected by the new rules - 80% of them order parcels, the cost of which does not exceed 150 euros. He did not rule out that the threshold of duty-free import into the Russian Federation could be reduced even further in the future. “In the future, the situation will be analyzed, and e-commerce will be monitored. It is possible that in the future this figure (150 euros) may be reduced, ”the deputy minister said.
No information has yet been announced on the date of the official start of the new threshold for duty-free import of parcels.
