The tale of how the Ukrainian operator had serious problems

Due to a serious error in the safety of the life :) operator, it is now possible to get the full number of any person using this OSS through simple fraud.

This story was told to me by a friend from Ukraine.

Take the usual guy Alexei, he has several large communities on VKontakte, Odnoklassniki or Facebook (it doesn’t matter). Once he was written by an advertiser Gregory, who wants to buy an advertisement. Actually, Alexey called Gregory and during the conversation the advertiser asked to call him back in half an hour to clarify some details of the deal. Well, he called a second time. Nothing boded ill.

But in the evening some unfamiliar girl called him and said that she was offended by him and it was all over, after which she hung up. Alexey called the girl back to find out what it was, whether he could help, etc. Ringing - quiet on the line. I called the second time, the girl picked up the phone and again said she was offended, and then she hung up. Literally an hour later, the phone bill in an unknown way was replenished by 20 hryvnia. “Well, they made a mistake with the number, with whom it does not happen,” thought Alex.
At these strange events, the first day ended. The next day, SMS arrives that the VK number has been changed to a new one.

How so? How could you lose a SIM card in your own phone?

It turns out that life :) operator issues a new SIM card, provided that you can name the date of the last account replenishment and the last numbers that you often call. And the frequent numbers, which is paradoxical, are those that you called at least 2 times! Alexey called two numbers twice. This means that the attacker had a replenishment date (because he had previously put those 20 hryvnias) and the same two frequent numbers. Then the scammers got a SIM card with the number of Alexei.

On the same day, Alex went to the operator’s office, they confirmed the fact of changing the SIM card.
But in order for them to even begin to sort this strange fact, you need to write a statement to the legal address. But you must admit, while the letter will begin to be sorted, then with Sims they will squeeze out everything that is possible.

So, what are scammers doing at that moment, while Alex is clearly trying to figure it out? They recover the password from the page, re-bind to their number and throw out the unnecessary SIM with the number of Alexei, and then demand a ransom for the community. It is useless to write to VKontakte Support, there is no theft. "Normal bandaging" - they will answer there. The police said that this is an online fraud, they do not do this. But for $ 1000, they can consider the case of Alexei. The life :) operator’s office again said: “Write a statement to the legal address.”

So, here you can easily get full access to any SIM card of any subscriber using the services of the life :) operator

But the number can include not only VKontakte communities, but also bank accounts, because now some banks allow you to do a lot with the account if you have access to your number.
