Blogging service Postach.io wins Evernote Devcup Developer Championship

We are pleased to announce the winners of the Evernote Devcup 2013 Developer Championship, the participants of which were to present the best applications and services based on the Evernote platform.

Every year, we offer developers to expand the capabilities of their applications with Evernote. This year almost 200 products took part in the championship. We awarded the top twelve products in each thematic category, then narrowed the list to six finalists, and finally, now, by voting visitors to the Evernote Conference, the three best Devcup apps were identified.

    Gold: Postach.io

The Canadian team of Sean Adrian and Gavin Vickery worked on the documentation for the previously created Quote Robot , and, according to Adrian, the existing tools for publishing on the Internet were disappointing, so they decided to write their own service.

Since they worked on the documentation in Evernote, like many others, they decided that the ideal solution would be a tool that took the written and quickly published materials without any intermediate steps between Evernote and the Web.

The result is Postach.io. The project, which won first place in Evernote Devcup 2013, and its creators received a prize of $ 20,000. This award was awarded to Postach.io, both as a result of a careful selection of a jury consisting of representatives of Evernote, and according to the results of user voting after the presentation of the product team at the Evernote Conference .

If you write for an online audience and use Evernote, you should try this service. It works very simply. You are creating an entry in Evernote. Then assign the entry a “published” label, after which it appears on your blog. By making changes to the Evernote note, you will immediately change the blog post associated with it.

Of course, the service offers much more blogging opportunities than just exporting texts. Postach.io supports several topics, a discussion system and integration with a number of other services, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Other integrations are planned in the future.

This is not the first experience integrating blog services with Evernote, but Postach.io is a different class of product. It’s better to see once ... This is a great integration with Evernote, created by a team of people who love their work and our service. Congratulations to the Postach.io team!

    Silver: Context Booster

Context Booster processes the contents of Evernote notes labeled “contextboost” and then searches the Internet for material related to this information. For example, if you mentioned famous people in a note, Context Booster will create notes about these people in your account and link them to the original existing note.

The application also works with images. For example, if you check a photo of a building, Context Booster will identify that building. Stumbled upon an interesting tweet? Just add it to your favorites and Context Booster will save this tweet as an Evernote note and then find the information related to it on the Internet.

This is a very good application, and Sebastian Kuepers, a representative of the development company, made an excellent speech at our conference. You can register at Contextbooster.com.

    Bronze: Biscuit

Biscuit is an iPhone app that helps you replenish foreign words. If the application is running, then each time you copy a word in a foreign language to the clipboard, Biscuit will show you the definition of that word in your native language, and also save it to the list for study in the Biscuit application.

The application itself works well with word lists, offering convenient tools for memorizing and testing new knowledge. If you wish, you can receive pop-up reminders to repeat the accumulated material throughout the day. As a nice bonus, the app is also integrated with Evernote Peek for iPad.

Biscuit is already available on the App Store and quickly gained an impressive user base. The application is free and can help you learn a foreign language more productively. You can download it here .
