persistent.im - conferences in any IM client

On a habr many write about advantages of Jabber over ICQ. I would like to cool the fervor of the fighters a little, showing that the networks may well live nearby and even interact. And at the same time publicize a new service :)

Many of us were faced with the need to organize an IM conference in ICQ. This is not always easy. The situation is even more complicated if you want to organize a chat with users of different networks, such as ICQ and Google Talk. In our service, we tried to facilitate such communication, and at the same time add a few useful functions.

The service is called persistent.im . It helps users to solve such problems:

    - device cross-system IM conferences
    - access to the history of conferences via the web
    - ensuring the permanency of conferences

In practice, it looks like this. The user creates an account on persistent.im, then uploads their IM contact lists to the service. After that, you can create a conference from the web at any time by selecting interlocutors from among your friends. Communication in the conference takes place directly in users' IM clients. Each conference is represented by one bot in the contact list, through which all communication takes place. In addition to the web interface, bots have a simple command-line interface.

Thus, you can arrange conferences with people from different IM services. All conference participants have access to the conference history via the web. The conference itself will live indefinitely, as long as there is communication in it, and for some time (up to 7 days) after the communication has completely stopped.

The service is free. Supported IM services: AIM / iChat, MSN / Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo !, ICQ, Jabber, Google Talk and MySpaceIM.

We will be glad if the service is useful to one of the readers.
