Web site age rating

British Minister of Culture Andy Barnham invited the governments of the United States and his kingdom to work on a project to create ratings for websites. Such is the concern for children who may see something frightening and forbidden on the Internet.

In addition, Mr. Barnham plans to introduce a couple of very interesting restrictions into his proposed bill. Which concern, for example, providers who will have to provide their services only to "friendly" web sites. Or they will be forced to close web sites (on which harmful content is detected) for a while. Until the nasty things are removed from them.

So far, the idea of the Minister of Culture looks more like not taking care of children. But as a step towards total censorship. I hope Andy Barnham’s strange thoughts will not cause sympathy for either the British or the American government.
