New “victims” of anti-piracy law: Game of Thrones and other series

By decision of the Moscow City Court, access to “pirated” copies of some of the series from “A Series” (a subsidiary of Amedia) should be closed. It seems that anti-piracy law is beginning to work in full force. The decision itself can be found here . It is worth noting that the director of "Thrones" and the HBO channel have repeatedly said that illegally distributed copies of films / TV shows only increase sales of licensed products.

Among other things, the decision also applies to such series as The Underground Empire (Boardwalk Empire), The Banshee, The Entourage, The Newsroom, Rome, Rome Ray Donovan. The Borgias, True Blood. "Amedia" demanded in court to close access to the first seasons of these series, although in some cases we are talking about 3-4-5 seasons.

It is worth noting that now under the “anti-piracy” law decisions have been made on 14 such applications, so the law, although slowly, is in effect. He started working on August 1, so that on the day the decision is made on less than one application from the copyright holders (although the application may refer to several films / series at once).

As planned, the Roskomnadzor is responsible for implementing court decisions.
