PayPal will start working with rubles from September 17

Starting September 17, PayPal will allow you to use rubles to pay for purchases in online stores, accept payments, transfer money to other users' accounts and withdraw them through bank accounts, Digit reports .

Both organizations and individual users will be able to transfer money to their account in a Russian bank. PayPal will not charge an additional fee for this, nor will it set a limit on the funds transferred.

PayPal consumer protection program will be extended to Russian users and stores, which allows you to contact PayPal to resolve mutual claims if one party is not satisfied with the transaction.

Currently, Russian users can replenish their PayPal account and pay through it to foreign business organizations, but they cannot carry out transactions in rubles and withdraw money through Russian banks.

In May this year, PayPal received a license from a non-bank credit organization (NPO) of the Central Bank of Russia. The license allows PayPal Ru LLC to carry out banking operations with funds in rubles and foreign currency.

Roem notesthat with obtaining legal status in Russia PayPal has tightened the requirements for user identification: for individuals to verify their identity they need to provide scanned copies of their passports, and for owners of business accounts - a whole list of documents that accompany the activities of a legal entity in Russia.

UPD: The comments drew attention to the fact that, in fact, the user agreement sets certain limits on transfers.
