Lenovo S750 - smartphone with IP67 protection

Lenovo S750 is Lenovo's new smartphone with IP67 protection.
IP67 protection class assumes the following:
- Dust cannot get into the device. Complete contact protection
- Short dive to a depth of 1m. Permanent work in submerged mode is not expected.
Today we test the phone not only with synthetic tests, but also check the phone’s water resistance in practice.

► Appearance and equipment
The smartphone comes in a Lenovo branded box:

In addition to the phone, only the charger and USB cable are included: The

phone looks bright due to the orange insert on the side.

On which it is indicated that the phone is not afraid of water:

A bright orange color is not only for the sake of beauty, but also has practical significance - the phone is easy to find in the grass or in the snow.
The phone is noticeably larger in size than the 4-inch A660.

The back panel is made of corrugated plastic: The

screws around the perimeter are only decorative.
The smartphone lies in the hand comfortably:

True, there is a little lack of emphasis on the side faces, as it was in the Lenovo A660, for a more confident grip.

(top - Lenovo A660, bottom - Lenovo S750)
Front there are 3 touch buttons with backlight: “Menu”, “Home” and “Back”.

The headphone input and microUSB port are located on top and hidden under the protective cover: The

volume buttons are on the left: The

speaker is on the bottom left:

A small ledge does not allow you to completely close the speaker by placing the phone on a table. The sound is loud, without wheezing at maximum volume.
8MP rear camera with flash:

We remove the back panel:

2 SIM card slots for use in GSM and WCDMA networks and a MicroSD memory card slot:

SIM cards are organized in the “standby” mode, when both cards can receive calls, but if you talk on one - the second will be inactive.
2000mAh battery:

►Screen
The Lenovo S750 has a 4.5-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 960x540 pixels. It is covered with a GorillaGlass 2 protective glass. The
color rendition of the screen is good, but the maximum brightness on a sunny day seems insufficient.

Viewing angles are good, with a slight tint in the blue with a strong horizontal deviation.

►Software and performance
The Lenovo S750 comes preinstalled with Android 4.2.1. At the moment, there is no fully Russified firmware, there are only assemblies with partial Russification.

The smartphone is built on a Mediatek 6589 chip, which consists of a 4-core Cortex-A7 processor with a frequency of up to 1.2 GHz and a PowerVR SGX544 GPU.
The amount of RAM - 1 gigabyte, permanent - 4 gigabytes.
The results in synthetic tests are very similar to the results of other models on the MT6589.
Antutu Benchmark 3.4 - about 14000 points, Quadrant - 3976

Vellamo points with a stable high result in the HTML 5 processing test:

Nenamark2 graphics subsystem scores 48.8 fps:

The chip performance is enough for arcade games:

So and 3D:

►GPS and Wifi
GPS cold start took about 2 minutes, active satellites 6 and the signal level is good:

I’m glad that many of the latest models on the MT6589 have a compass that will help you navigate in the direction on the map.
Wifi accepts well, both next to the router, and through an obstacle in the form of 2 walls:

►Camera
The resolution of the rear camera is 8MP. And the pictures pleasantly surprise: normal color reproduction and white balance in automatic mode.

►Working time
The battery capacity is 2000mAh. Let's look at the results of the synthetic test Antutu Tester:

680 points - a very mediocre result.
In practice, the graph of battery consumption is as follows:

In detail:

(for some reason, the first 40 minutes of the screen turned on lost) The
activity on the graph above is approximately the following: 4 hours of games, 2 hours of active surfing via Wifi, the rest of the time Wifi is just turned on.
Perhaps the problem of such a fast battery consumption lies in poorly optimized firmware.
►IP67
A rubber pad located around the battery and SIM card slots provides protection against water ingress inside.
Also, the protection is excellent build quality, without cracks and gaps.
We turn to the most interesting: water resistance test.
Normal diving and taking calls:
Underwater video shooting:
When immersed in fresh water, accidental screen taps are possible. Also, under water, the touch screen does not respond to pressing. Accordingly, if you want to shoot something underwater, then the camera must be turned on in advance.
The phone successfully survived with a dozen takes. It was scary only for the first time, and then it even started to like.
