Once I wrote some short story. Now I want to breathe new ideas into it and a new breath. Maybe someone will be interested.

    Prologue.

Morning is like morning. The alarm rings again, I get out of bed again, go to the washbasin ... Now I am ready to go to work.
Stop, something is wrong. Something I'm completely on autopilot. But where is everyone? Why am I alone at home? Again, the wife left at night with her children to her parents? It seems there was no reason for this, strange. There is no note ... Where is the phone ... Beeps ... Beeps ... The
number cannot answer at the moment ... So, you need to call your parents ... Beeps ... The number cannot answer at the moment ... What is this nonsense? Where did everyone go ??

Egor waved his hand at everything, once again straightened his hair in front of the mirror, pulled up his tie and left the apartment, heading for the parking lot. The path to the parking lot ran through a kindergarten, where parents and their children always hung around and some teachers breathed air before the start of the working day. Egor knew all these people by sight and always greeted them. And sometimes he distributed sweets to children. This time, Yegor was amazed at what he saw. The territory of the kindergarten was completely empty. There was not a soul. Moreover, the street was so bewitchingly quiet that silence just struck my ears. Egor paused, looked around, looked at his watch, thinking that he probably got up a couple of hours earlier than usual and therefore all normal people are still sleeping. But the clock was 7:30 in the morning. Normal time. Egor scratched his head and went on to the parking lot. What is amazing He also did not meet the parking man, he was not in the booth, but Yegor did not have a look for his mood, so he got into the car and drove to work. Egor was even more surprised when he moved along the usual path ...

    - Where is everyone? What's going on here? - thought to himself Egor.

And indeed, where it usually takes 2 minutes to stand in a traffic jam in front of a traffic light - there was not a soul. The road was completely empty. Moreover, there was not one of the pedestrians who usually climb under the wheels, crossing the road in the wrong place. And nobody here! So throughout the journey, Yegor was the only participant in the movement on the road. And all the way he did not meet a single living person. He wondered what was going on. Upon arrival at work, Yegor was no longer surprised that the parking in front of the office was completely free. But when he didn’t find any guards at the office who usually drink coffee and poison stories about fishing trips at this time, nor the cleaners who tear the glass doors at the entrance, nobody. The office and office space were completely empty. Not a single living soul. Then Yegor had a fit of fear and panic. He did not understand what was going on. I did not understand where all the people had gone. He again began to call the phones of relatives and friends. Phones did not answer. Only a few asked to leave a message on the answering machine. But not more. Then Yegor turned on his working computer, and tried to find at least someone who would be on-line in a pager for exchanging quick messages. The network was also all offline. Then Yegor began to read the latest news bulletins, hoping to find at least some clue, at least some explanation for what was happening here ... But nothing of the kind. There are no urgent reports that a hurricane is approaching, or a major earthquake is expected, there are no reports of impending dangers or attacks by neighboring states. And all the people seemed to have died out, but there weren’t even corpses, so they had to be taken out somewhere, but who,

“And why did they leave me?” And why didn’t anyone even tell me anything? - Yegor thought to himself.

After digging on the Internet did not give any results, Yegor went outside, looked around, got into the car and went for a drive around the city in the hope of finding at least one living person. But empty streets destroyed his hopes every second. And at one of the intersections, Yegor saw cars that stood right at the intersection, from afar it looked like an accident, when he drove closer, it became clear that both cars were waiting for the green light to make a left turn, in his soul Yegor hoped that these people would open windows of cars communicate with each other, and added gas. He was ready at all costs not to miss these two people, it was the only clue. And so he drove up to this intersection, carefully got out of the car, went up to these two cars, and saw that they were both empty. But one of them was wound up. He looked inside and saw that there was only a little bit of gas in the car, and she didn’t have to work long. When Yegor looked inside the second car, he realized that the gas in it was already over and therefore she did not let the exhaust out of the pipe. Already released everything that was. Egor bowed his head and walked to his car. He did not completely understand what was happening. He went to the cafe where he usually dined. The cafe was closed. Yegor found the stone, took it and threw the cafe at the glass door. The alarm went off immediately, and Yegor, pleased with himself, looked around, waiting for the security organization to arrive. But there was no one around. Only the ringing of the alarm did not stop. Then, when he was tired of enduring this ringing, Yegor made his way inside and cut the wires going to the speaker with a kitchen knife. Then he began to host a cafe in the kitchen, in order to prepare something for a snack, due to the resulting stress, a good appetite has developed. It was a very interesting sensation, a snack in a familiar place, but in complete solitude and silence.
Suddenly, this seemingly indestructible silence was broken by a phone ring, indicating that an SMS message had arrived. Egor almost jumped up with joy, he with great hope climbed into the phone to read the message, a bunch of thoughts flew through his head, and the main thought was the thought that all this is a hoax and now they will tell him about it.

However, when Yegor saw who the message was from, his joy immediately gave way to even greater despair. The message received on the phone was another spam from the mobile operator. But all these proposals, especially in the current situation, did not interest Yegor at all.

Time passed, there was nothing to do. In order to somehow entertain himself and distract from the nightmare, Yegor visited many expensive stores, having the opportunity to enjoy testing all kinds of expensive equipment that he could never afford. Then Yegor began to steal all kinds of expensive cars that only very wealthy people rode on. He simply rode cool cars around the city, sometimes drove into various shops, such as hunting, household appliances, computer equipment, and what he liked he took with him and pretended to be a tough guy. So grabbing the trunks he liked in one arms store, Yegor imagined himself to be a modern Klin Eastwood, shooting at parked cars that weren’t needed, at the glass of high-rise buildings and other objects that became for him just a decoration of a big theater.

It took a day and a half. Yegor was already tired of fooling around, but there were still no people. When he decided to once again have a meal in a pretty decent establishment, he was disappointed that many products were already missing. Moreover, at the very peak of the meal, which consisted of what he found edible, the lights went out. This made Yegor think about a lot. After a hearty dinner, when Yegor left for the next drive, hiding behind the fact that he was exploring the situation, Yegor found that there was no light in the whole city. And this is not surprising, because if all people have disappeared, then there is absolutely no one to monitor the fuel level in urban thermal power plants. This changes things, without electricity it will be much more difficult to survive alone. And when you consider that winter is ahead ... Egor did not even want to think about it. After some thought, Yegor went to the car station, to the station that deals with the transportation of fuel. I found a more or less decent truck with a gas tank. After making sure that the tank was not empty, also checking that the tractor itself was not diesel, Yegor started the truck and decided to go to the nearest neighboring city. He hoped that all the same, not all the people of the Earth disappeared overnight, and that only his city was empty. On the way to the intercity highway, Yegor drove into the super market, scored all kinds of food that you can eat on the road and went ahead. and that only his city was empty. On the way to the intercity highway, Yegor drove into the super market, scored all kinds of food that you can eat on the road and went ahead. and that only his city was empty. On the way to the intercity highway, Yegor drove into the super market, scored all kinds of food that you can eat on the road and went ahead.

It took about eighteen hours to get to the road. At the same time, Yegor made stops every two to three hours in order to stretch his muscles, relieve human needs and just take a break from the road. Even when night came, Yegor was not going to go to bed, he was obsessed with the idea of getting to the neighboring city as soon as possible and asking people what had happened in his city, and possibly in the world.

So the moment of truth has come. There were five kilometers to the city, but there were still no oncoming cars or passing cars on the road, only occasionally there were abandoned cars on the side of the road, near which there were no signs of human presence. this put Yegor in a state of jitters. Most of all he was afraid that in this city he would also not find a single living person. And finally, he enters the city, despite the white day, the city’s roads are completely empty, there are no pedestrians, there are no signs of life, traffic lights also do not work, apparently due to lack of electricity. Egor stopped right in the middle of the next intersection, got out of the car and began to scream.

    - People !!! ??? Anyone !? Does anyone hear me? Yegor yelled, breaking his voice.

But in response, he only heard his own echo, well heard in the absolute silence of the dead city. Yegor sat on the road for a while, putting his feelings in order, then found himself a less bulky car and went to scour the city. He looked into all medical and law enforcement institutions. Everywhere there was darkness, silence and the complete absence of signs of life. Then Yegor went to the local airport. He once piloted private small aircraft. And he had little experience in this matter. The airport was also completely deserted, which caused wild horror on Yegor. In one of the hangars, he found a decent small airplane, imported. He was convinced that the fuel tanks were full, and began to prepare for take-off. He did not yet have a clear plan where he will fly, and what he will do, he just wanted to look at the Earth from a height of flight, and perhaps then, as he hoped, he would be able to find at least one city in which there would be living people. Or some other clue.

The flight on the plane did not last too long, since the capacity of the tanks of this model is not large. Egor flew past one fairly large town, over which there were no signs of life, and in the next city, along the route of his route, he had to land, otherwise he risked to crash. No matter how sad it may be, but nowhere, no signs of life were still noted. After landing, Yegor quickly found a place where you can attach, right at the airport, and fell asleep.

Yegor was already 32 years old, he had a good family, two children whom he loved very much, in fact, like his wife, and the family answered him in the same way. By profession, Yegor was a psychologist, and worked as a psychoanalyst in one large company. He had enough for life, he was satisfied with life in general. He was quite a practical and positive person, although it happened that he began to take offense at the whole world, especially when a lot of problems fell on him at one time. Also, Yegor was a little versed in technology and had a lot of hobbies. One of these hobbies was just piloting aircraft. Now, Yegor did not know what to do with all that he knows how. And even at times it made no sense to live on.

In a dream, Yegor dreamed of his beloved family, colleagues, pedestrians, people, and he smiled in his sleep like a child, despite the fact that lately he had managed to fairly bristle up, and his suit was dirty, wrinkled, and began to emit unpleasant odors. When Yegor woke up, he was again upset. After all, the memory returned to him that he was in a completely unfamiliar city, at the airport, where there is not a single person, not counting himself. He was also worried about the questions “Where is everyone?” And “What to do next?”.

Gathering forces, Yegor moved to the city. This time he first experienced difficulty with transport. Batteries in cars began to run out of downtime, so cars did not start immediately. A deficit also began to appear with food, as time passed, there was no electricity, everything that should be stored in the refrigerator quickly deteriorated, there were only various canned goods, chocolate bars and other long-spoiled products that Yegor did not really like as healthy food.

At the time of a walk around the city, the weather began to deteriorate sharply, it became colder, a strong wind blew, and soon heavy rain poured. Egor took refuge in a clothing store, very successfully. There he found clothes more practical for the conditions in which he fell, as well as warmer. The wind blew into the streets so much that at times it even picked up cars, and carried them like toys from place to place. Yegor was somewhat surprised and scared. He had not seen such a hurricane yet. When everything calmed down, chaos was happening in the city. Cars stood at random, some were wrecked and turned upside down. Many windows in the windows of the houses were broken. Around there were puddles, mud, debris of obscure objects and trees tumbled down by the wind, poles and electric wires lying directly on the asphalt. The picture is frankly not joyful. And after all, Yegor understood that now it will be so, because there are no specials. city services will not go out and will not accept restoration work. There is no one to remove dirt, no one to pull apart trees, no one to remove wires from the road, and no one to put the city in order. Well, perhaps Yegor himself would do it, but he clearly did not think to do it. He was still trying to understand what happened to the World ?!

Given the state of affairs, Yegor began to look for the safest building in which he could live more or less comfortably. He had no desire to go to another city. Especially considering that there is no weather forecast for the next day, and the weather presents surprises. The main important parameters for Yegor were: the availability of a bomb shelter, in case of weather anomalies, fire safety and thermal insulation. After all, now there is no central heating, and for warming up, you will most likely have to use improvised fires directly inside the building. An ideal option of course would be to stay in a cottage, but they are not so resistant to weather conditions.

Egor with great sadness recalled his loved ones, about all the people of the planet, even about those whom he did not know, and asked himself the question “Well, why did I sometimes so like to stay alone, to leave everyone and not see anyone? Why did I need this? If I had not dreamed, maybe all of this would not have happened. God, how I want to return everything as it was! Pray, bring people back to Earth! I need them like air! ” With such thoughts, he began to equip his home. To stock up provisions, fuel, and other necessities. For housing, he chose one office building built back in Soviet times. In his opinion, it seemed to him the safest.
