Open source GPS car wash project

Recently, I had a new idea for a hobby. Well, a person should be distracted from work so as not to go crazy. And I decided to try to make an alarm for my car based on Arduino using GPS and GSM.
Today, the market offers many such solutions. Sensors in the car signal the device about its condition, the device is able to receive GPS coordinates and transmit them via the GSM channel - either via SMS or through a special application for a smartphone. Some devices allow you to remotely control a car, turn off the ignition and carry out other anti-theft actions. The top category of such devices is generally serviced by companies that monitor your car for a certain monthly fee. Also, such companies are often used by transport companies.
For myself, I wanted to start with a fairly simple project that would be powered from the car’s network and could report GPS coordinates via SMS both on request and in the event of a motor start (I think this moment can be monitored through a power surge) and in case of swing and vibration of the car (vibration sensor).
And I was not going to tell the general public about this, if not for my friend, a big fan of open source and “public funding”. He began to convince me that such an idea might be of interest to many.
I personally doubt it, but still decided to ask a friendly community whether such a project has the right to life.
With the help of crowdfunding, you can develop software with the help of a small team, with the possibility of modularly expanding the project (for example, connecting to OBD adapters , but you can think of a lot more), make the network connection non-volatile (network - charger - battery - Arduino sandwich), make decent boxes for the whole project. And turn it all into a constructor for everyone, putting the program code in open access for the joy of a wide audience of arduino.
UPDATE: judging by the comments, I haven't described my idea well enough. I did not plan to replace the standard alarm with a key fob. Just a beacon that can track the position and condition of the car, and send this data somewhere via GSM. I did not want to open the car from the phone. So I renamed the topic, it's something like a car GPS beacon with remote control.
