New Ford technology allows you to "print" the car body in a matter of hours

It’s worth saying right away that this technology was not created for mass production, but for the rapid creation of prototypes, without losing time on the manufacture of individual parts manually. Ford Freeform Fabrication Technology (F3T) is based on the use of a number of metal plates from which the necessary body parts are “squeezed”. According to the developers, the technology allows you to create an entire car body from a CAD file in a matter of hours.
Such technology can significantly accelerate the process of prototype development, as well as their “materialization” for testing. It's hard to believe, but the time to create a car using F3T takes 60 times less than in the case of the traditional method.
Of course, this reduces operating costs, plus significantly speeds up the process of developing new cars. Maybe in the future this method will also be used to create customized parts for the cars of the company's customers.
