New Google Developers Features: Gaming APIs, Translation, and Testing
Today at the Google I / O conference in San Francisco, Google announced a number of new features for developers.
Firstly, this is a new API family created specifically for game developers . The platform will support cloud saves (including for synchronization between different devices), achievements and leaderboards via Google+. In addition, another API implements turn-based or real-time multiplayer. Google will give developers not only the opportunity to support matches by connecting devices, but also invite other players to participate in battles through, again, Google+.
At the same time, Google Play game services will be supported not only in Android applications, but also for iOS and the web, which makes them truly cross-platform.
The new APIs will be available for all Android devices starting with version 2.2 (Froyo) and you can already subscribe to them through the developer console.

Secondly, it translates applications into other languages . Directly from the Developer Console, program creators can send a request to translate their applications. This should simplify the translation of applications from one language to another, increase the audience of applications and, ultimately, increase sales. Developers can place a translation order in just a few clicks and send the lines they need to translate, having received them back later.
Translation is naturally carried out for a fee, as third-party companies will do this.
How, who and for what money will transfer all this, however, is not yet entirely clear. In the Russian version of Play, for now, you can only subscribe to the beta testing of the program.

Finally, these are the built-in beta and alpha testing services . The idea, in general, is not new - to test the functions of the application before its official release to a small group of users (for example, this is the service TestFlight, which literally this week opened its service for Android).
Right now, two bookmarks have appeared right in the developer's console in the application store, in which the APK can be sent for alpha testing or beta testing. In this case, it will be necessary to choose one of the test groups through Google Groups and Google+, which will leave the application, and the reviews will not be posted on Google Play, where they would play a bad role, but sent directly to the developer.
