“A fake video of a smartphone application with a background around” or “How to save money on a DIY stabilization system” or “Is it possible to record this using any software thread directly in smart?”

Foreword

Looking through the comments on the topic “Shooting video from the iPhone screen in motion - DIY stabilization system for DSLR or HD camcorders” I came across a comment that was addressed to me. Actually, I realized that the question is addressed to me in the same way that all habro-people do it - I see the question, then they ask me. I was thinking of answering with a simple comment ... But then I realized that I needed a detailed answer.

And so, how to make a fake video of the smartphone application, and even so that it can be seen what is happening around?
I immediately ran out into the corridor ...
... and recorded this video:

Already something like the video from the original article, is not it?

Not enough smartphone in the middle. I shot video on my Galaxy Nexus, but since we want to attract investors to our application, we will use the iPhone. I looked for frames from iPhones on the net , but, unfortunately, almost all of them were with an ugly glare in the middle. In our fake video, this flare would be terribly annoying. In general, any glare needs to be animated, for the video to be realistic, but we don’t have time for this: from any moment investors who want to give us their money will knock on the door because of our unbelievably cool video about a smartphone application. Therefore, let's take this frame:

It has less pronounced glare, and the fact that they do not move is not noticeable, unless you specifically focus on it. If anything, we’ll tell investors that our application can still freeze glare on a smartphone. (Then we will remove this feature as unclaimed)

For editing this great video I will use Adobe After Effects. Just because, if you write in the estimate that the work was done in it, it looks cooler. And so, all the same can be done in any video editing program that has a blur filter and layers. Tobish in almost any. Hypothetically, this can even be done in some not yet written smartphone application, which was originally asked by the user fdv. But I never found normal video editors on Google Play. If anyone knows, tell me, I will be glad to make a video about iPhones right on my Galaxy Nexus.

Step number one is overlaying the frame of the phone.

We will put a frame in the center of our video so that it barely touches the top and bottom edges of the screen edges:

Of course, since we do not use any DIY devices (and therefore are not related to reality), we can make the phone levitate before our eyes :

... but it will look stupid and not realistic ... So we will do so.

Step number two - sticking a duplicate video into the phone.

As you can see, the original video was shot by the Galaxy Nexus, tilted approximately 90 degrees to the side. And our iPhone is located vertically. So we need to trim the excess from our second video on the sides, and slightly reduce the remaining stump so that it fits into the iPhone frame. Also, the video is worth a little dimming; as you can see from the video happybyte Gorilla Glass passes quite a bit of light. It will turn out like this:

Step number three - blur the background.

Lack of realism? Add blur!
We apply the blur effect to our background, and voila:

This can already be considered the end result. Only a couple of little things are missing ...

Step number four (optional) - add special effects.

Since our iPhone flies in the air, thanks to a powerful magnetic field, it should at least swing a little from side to side. Something like this:

But we know how it happens with batteries ... So our hyper-magnetic installation did not work long.

We glue the iPhone in place with a blue electrical tape. It turned out quite similar to the video that we tried to imitate. Only one thing is missing ...

Step number five - overlay the interface.

Still, we made a video about the program ... And the program, probably, should have an interface.
And what, in fact, will our program do?

In general, what our program does, in my opinion, is clear from the interface.

Summarizing.

Here you go. With such a video, it’s not a shame to appear in the light and take money from investors. Of course, it would be worth making the form longer, first making a beautiful screensaver, and somewhere in the middle to show how a pretty girl uses our application ... But we will do it next time. And while I go, I’ll see why investors don’t ring the doorbell; maybe someone hung the doorbell?

PS This is just a habro-topic-answer to the habro-koment-question. I hope that soon any habro-question will be followed not by a habro-ignore, but by a habro-answer! Indeed, if each of us, to the noted habro-question, will give not just a detailed habro-answer, but a whole habro-topic, then the habro-community will be even faster than the habro-grow!

UPD
Here many were surprised that a popular video came out of a low-end topic, so I add a more expected result:

Although, of course, for better glare it was worth recording a separate file with the video behind the shooter. It would be ideal if the phones could shoot simultaneously on both cameras ... Oh, dreams, dreams!
