Home 3D scanner already on kickstarter

Looking at the growing popularity of budget three-dimensional printers, many probably thought about three-dimensional scanners, and now the first such project has already appeared on kickstarter.
    Short description

CADScan 3D allows you to scan objects with dimensions up to 250mm x 250mm x 250mm, with an accuracy of 0.2 mm. The object is located on a rotating platform, two scanning heads are used for scanning: one moves in the vertical plane, the other in the horizontal. Initially, the object is scanned in low resolution, which makes it possible to more accurately position the head when scanning in high resolution. The result can be saved in one of the popular formats, for example STL, OBJ, or PLY.

While compatibility with mac and windows is declared, compatibility with linux is “planned” and the device is not “Open Hardware” - the authors applied for patenting the design of the scanning heads.
I think now we should expect the appearance of other similar projects.
