Rutreker registers its name as a trademark

Earlier this month, Runet’s largest Bittorrent website, Rutraker, filed documents for the registration of rutracker and rutrackerorg trademarks, the Izvestia newspaper reported . Among the registration goals announced by the owners of the resource are the sale of souvenirs and the fight against scammers posing as Rutracker.org.

The representative of Rutreker assured that the registration is carried out for the same reasons that it would have been carried out by any other company experiencing growth. For example, there are services that impersonate the original rutracker.org and engage in phishing, extort money, etc. On the other hand, the representative promised that the prosecution of the owners of the site rutracker.ru, whose domain name is consonant with the domain of Rutraker, is not planned, although this can be done in court.

Also, the representative of Rutreker promised to start producing souvenirs with the symbols of the site if a partner is found. However, according to the leader of LiveInternet German Klimenko, such an explanation sounds implausible:
