Best IT employers: first results of grading service at My Circle
We are launching a new service for evaluating companies on My Circle. In the first part of our announcement, we told how the service is arranged, what its rules are, how the ratings are considered. In our other publication, we showed how it differs from foreign analogues.
Before the public launch of the new service, we tested it on a narrow circle of companies, collecting estimates for 55 of them. Using their example, in the second part of our announcement, let's see what kind of new information about the labor market in IT we can now extract. We will also show companies that received the highest marks from their employees during testing. We invite everyone to discuss in the comments how useful such a rating will be and what its rules should be.
For a start, let's take a look at the big picture. We noticed that the smaller the company in terms of the number of employees, the higher its ratings are. Therefore, it makes sense to compare companies with each other at least in their own “weight” group.

For each weight group, we calculated the average score and the average recommendation (one and the other was considered as a median value). We see that for companies with more than 5,000 employees (xbig), the "normal" is an average rating of 3.7 and an average recommendation of 72%. For companies from 1,000 to 5,000 employees (big) - 4.13 and 82%. For companies from 100 to 1000 employees (medium) - 4.33 and 89%. For companies from 10 to 100 employees (small) - 4.53 and 93%.

Now let's see how in each weight group estimates are distributed according to the 12 criteria by which we conduct a survey. And again we are convinced that the smaller the company, the greater the score it receives on average for each of the criteria. The only exception is the social package. For small and medium companies, the evaluation by this criterion is on average lower than that of big and xbig companies.

If for each weight group we try to arrange the estimates in descending order, we will see in which group which qualities of the companies are on average the strongest and which are the weakest.
For all weight groups, with the exception of medium companies, the highest score on average is received by the criterion “Relations with colleagues”. And one of the smallest is Management Literacy. Worse management literacy is estimated only by the “Social Package” in small and medium companies, and “Relationship with Top Management” in xbig companies.
In all weight groups except xbig, the “Professional Growth” opportunity is among the best qualities. And “Adequacy of the patch” is among the worst.
“Interesting tasks” are among the best qualities in small companies, “Comfortable working conditions” - in medium companies, “Company makes the world better” - in big or xbig companies.
Finally, we got to the most intriguing in our new rating service. Which companies are valued by their employees above others?
In each weight group, we compared the companies by their average rating. We also looked at which companies were in the top 3 for each of our 12 criteria: for each such entry, we awarded the company one nomination.
In each weight group, we chose 3 companies with the highest average ratings or the most nominations. It turned out that not always a company with a higher average rating has a greater number of nominations.
The first place among the heavyweights was divided among themselves "SKB contour" and "Yandex". "SKB contour" received a large average rating, but Yandex collected more nominations. By the way, Yandex is the only one among all the companies that participated in the testing, who collected all 12 nominations, that is, ranked in the top 3 on all 12 of our criteria. The second place was shared by Tinkoff and Luxoft. Tinkoff received a higher average grade, and Luxoft collected more nominations. Third place went to EPAM.
The first place among the big companies went to Eqvanta Group. The second is a jar "Point". The third is Avito.
The first place among medium-sized companies went to Alternativa Games. The second is the Innova company. The third place was shared by FunBox and REG.RU. FunBox has more than average rating, but REG.RU has more nominations.
The first place among small companies was divided by Staply, which received a high average rating, and the Carrot quest, which collected more nominations. JustWork ranked second. Third place was shared by BestDoctor and Voximplant.
