So, we are gradually moving on to the next stage in the development of the Tracksflow.com project .
Now that we have provided our users with access to virtually all music and almost all necessary related information, provided the opportunity to communicate and learned how to deliver it all to mobile devices, we can say that we have achieved the necessary result from the initial stage of development. The project is growing at a very good pace (adding ± 12% per week), people really use the service, spend a lot of time, browse many pages, listen to a lot of music, we get a lot of ideas, wishes and bug reports from users. In general, it seems that we are doing something right.
But the quality of the information that we manage to collect on the Internet suits us only partially.
It would seem strange, but we could not find a single resource on the network where all the music was correctly cataloged and stored in perfect order. In the same last.fm , a mess is often found in artists' cards, not to mention our Russian catalog. We get metadata from other resources, we agreed with Discogs.com , musicbrains.com , deezer.com . But this does not solve the problem. Therefore, the task is to restore order. We decided to give our users the opportunity to administer the pages of their favorite artists. We suggest you use Tracksflow.com , including such a kind of Wiki, a music encyclopedia. We hope that this will be useful and in demand.
The mechanics are very simple - any user can send a request to manage the artist’s page, including all the content that is associated with this artist. After moderation, the administrator gets the opportunity to create / delete albums. While these are the first steps in this direction, the functionality is limited. But in the future and if it will be necessary, we will certainly implement other opportunities.
To make it more interesting, we decided to show the administrator on the artist’s page, he can be added. And we, in turn, will try to encourage our admins as much as possible.
