EMC bought Syncplicity

Today it became known that such a giant as EMC , the creator of Symmetrix and the owner of VMWare, bought the startup Syncplicity .

For those who have not heard of Syncplicity, in a nutshell:
Syncplicity is, until recently, a weak competitor to Dropbox. The main functional difference for private users is the ability to synchronize any folder, which is very convenient. For corporate customers, its capabilities are far superior to Dropbox.
Syncplicity also has clients for almost all popular platforms.

Now this startup can be considered as the number one competitor to Dropbox, since EMC chose it among dozens of others.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed, but it is known that at the moment Syncplicity has more than 25,000 paid subscribers, which is not bad.

By the way, EMC already owns Octopus, which is similar in functionality, which cannot but suggest the elimination of competitors, but still we hope for a bright future for Syncplicity.
