Google will spend $ 200 million marketing new channels



    Google, as previously reported, continues to fill YouTube with premium content, create new channels, sign contracts with various celebrities who host new channels. Previously, the corporation spent about $ 100 million on these goals. Now another 200 million dollars will be spent on marketing - after all, new channels are good, but new users are also needed.

    To attract new users, various kinds of advertisements for new channels will be shown, both on YouTube and throughout the Google Display Network. By the way, the other day the corporation announced the signing of contracts with new celebrities, music groups and individual artists. In order to make it easier for users to find the most interesting and relevant content for them, the developers will create a special guide / search engine.

    It is worth recalling that the management of the service announced its plans in 2012 to turn YouTube video hosting from a collection of videos with cats and children into a service with high-quality and varied video content. Since then, a lot of work has been done, dozens of new channels with premium content have been opened, the video editor has been changed and finalized, and agreements have been signed with celebrities. True, not all channels (out of hundreds planned) have been launched, but a little more than 50.

    Now YouTube plans to continue investing in the development of its video hosting. For example, soon the rights to use all kinds of video content from movie companies and television channels will be acquired. As a result, the YouTube leadership hopes to significantly change both the content of the service and the attitude of users to the service itself.
