Apple requires partner to discontinue competitor laptops

    Apple presented Pegatron with an ultimatum - either it stops the Zenbook for ASUS, or loses the client in the face of Apple.

    Zenbook, a direct competitor to the MacBook Air, appeared last year and became one of the first representatives of the ultrabook family , the ultra-thin class of lightweight laptops. Although the entire line of ultrabooks is conceptually similar to the MacBook Air, the Zenbook is also similar in appearance:




    Pegatron will probably agree with Apple’s demand and stop Zenbook production by the end of March. In this case, ASUS will transfer production to Compal and Wistron. The Taiwanese company assured that such a transfer of production will not affect either the quality of the products or the quantity of supplies.
