To improve the office, you need to get rid of it

The world's largest producer of office supplies, Staples.com, conducted a survey of office employees on what could make their office life more comfortable. The survey results were supposed to be used for public relations: they say that they want so much more comfortable furniture, and so much more stylish interior so that companies think about buying new products in Staples stores.

In reality, it turned out completely wrong. 41% of the employees surveyed to the question “How can I improve office life?” Did not want new printers, computers, or office supplies, but chose the option “Allow work from home.”

In other words, almost half of office workers generally dislike the concept of office. With the development of technology, many people no longer understand why to go through the whole city and gather in the same room with a group of the same unfortunate people.

Among those who took part in the survey, 44% chose the option “Eliminating office policies”. This is an alternative to remote work - to create an atmosphere in the office so that everyone can feel comfortable. It is advisable to completely cancel the dress code, allow food at any time, sleep at any time (that is, in office buildings it is necessary to equip kitchens and bedrooms), establish a free work schedule and so on. In general, do everything at home.

The abolition of office rules is more important for people than upgrading computers and technical infrastructure or more comfortable office furniture.

But then it becomes even more incomprehensible - why still spend 1-2 hours a day on the way to the office, if conditions are created there, like at home? This makes sense only for those people who cannot work effectively in their homes (for example, students from a hostel, fathers of large families, residents of small-sized apartments, etc.).
