Wndows XP, which has been holding the last 10 years on a global scale, has ceded its position to another Microsoft product - Windows 7. According to StatCounter statistics published last September 2011, the share of Windows XP amounted to 39.97%, while Windows 7 won 41.74%.
A much less successful product, Micrsoft Windows Vista, occupies a modest 11.51% - and the share of this system is steadily falling. Mac OS X showed some growth from 5.9% in September 2010 to 6.89% in October 2011.
Linux's share is extremely stable and is at the level of 0.78%.
