Scottish police indict Topiary, the first speaker of the hacker group LulzSec, in court last Monday. Police say they found evidence against him on the suspect’s computer, including 750,000 passwords and a scam of the news of the recent Rupert Murdoch’s death.

Jake Davis, an 18-year-old teenager from the Shetland Islands, is accused of unauthorized access to computer systems, participation in the organization of DDoS attacks and other crimes. Separately, the police emphasized the fact that during the investigation they found: confidential information of the NHS organization , information on hacking News International servers and participation in attacks on the Serious Organized Crime Agency website .

In recent years, Topiary has been the speaker of Anonymous and LulzSec, and it was also believed that he maintains a LulzSec Twitter account , which now has over 350,000 followers. He recently deleted all posts from his own feed, leaving only a single tweet with the words: “You cannot arrest an idea.”

The evidence obtained is evidence against Jake, whose fault until recently many doubted. The information on his computer confirms that he took an active part in the operations of LulzSec and Topiary, like many Scots, says with an accent.

In court, Jake Davis appeared in a jeans jacket and sunglasses. He confirmed his name and address to the judge, but the rest of the time he remained silent. According to Reuters: “he held back a smile when the prosecution tried to pronounce“ LulzSec “.” He had the book Free Radicals: The secret anarchy of science with him.

After the trial, the accused was released on his own recognizance (at his mother’s house) and under the ban on access to the Internet. The court will review the case file, and Jake will be monitored from 10 pm to 7 am every day, as well as wearing a tracking device. The next meeting is on August 30th.
