Closed community of freelancers

    In this post, I would like to consider three problems that from time to time can be found in the work of a freelancer:
    - lack of interesting orders and pleasant clients at work;
    - loss of money when you cannot do the job not in your specialty;
    - loss of money when you can’t take another order, and transfer it to no one.

    I will try to describe these problems and propose a solution. So let's go.

    I think all freelancers want to work only with interesting orders and pleasant customers. But for most, great customers, like New Year's gifts, are rare. Therefore, you don’t have to choose, because everyone always needs money.

    Most likely, the idea is familiar to you: “If I refuse all uninteresting projects and heavy customers, then I can not earn so much money a month.” For this reason, we very often work:
    • over routine projects;
    • over orders where the client does not need the best solution, but only the speed of execution;
    • with other people's "source", which you can’t work without a mat and it’s easier to spit and redo everything again.

    Many will agree that it is better not to work with such orders. I also hold this opinion. But how to maintain a constant standard of living is already a question.

    Ask yourself questions. What if you are not the only ones looking for orders? How much would your efficiency and quality of projects grow from this?

    Let's look at another situation now. A client is contacting you, and he needs a range of services. Let's say a turnkey site. And you are engaged, only in the design of sites and can not take on the project completely. Most likely, such an order will not work.

    Or take another example. You have already done, for example, a website design for a client, but he still needs to make a logo (layout, corporate identity, etc.), but you do not understand this. Those. a potential order that is very easy to receive (the client already trusts you) swims past you.

    What if you personally knew specialists in other fields who could confidently transfer this project for a certain percentage of the budget?

    Consider the last example. I think that many people had crazy rush when you are already doing two, three or four projects at the same time, and several more clients are asking for you. And you would be happy to take them, but you can no longer physically fulfill them, even if you work 24 hours a day for several months.

    Clients go to others, and you regret that you have lost potential profit, for example, by $ 1,000 - $ 5,000. I think few who are pleased to lose that kind of money.

    What to do in these cases?

    I decided to do something like a freelance association that would help its members cope with these problems.

    What are the benefits of participating in such a community:
    1. In addition to you, other community members will work on finding orders.
    2. You will be able to receive customers from other participants who, for whatever reason, are not able to do this project.
    3. You will be able to transfer orders that you yourself cannot make to other members of the community and receive interest on the budget for this.
    4. You will be able to carry out projects that require not one specialist, but a whole team.
    5. In part, this will help to resolve the issue with the search for interesting projects and pleasant customers.

    If you are interested in participating in such an association, write to me at community@webster.co.ua.

    If you have any thoughts or questions on the topic, ask them in the comments. I hope that together we can help each other.
