Sony Ericsson phones now have the ability to make Skype video calls

    Skype day on the main.

Good news finally began to come from Skype - today they announced on their blog an update to the Android app with video chat support.

For video calls, you will need Android OS version 2.3 and above and a front camera. Four devices are currently supported, two of which are ours: Sony Ericsson Xperia neo and Sony Ericsson Xperia pro (Sony Ericsson Xperia neo on the Market ).

In addition, all new Sony Ericsson smartphones equipped with a front camera — that is, Xperia mini pro and Xperia ray — will support video calls by default as soon as they become available.

Skype for Android video calls work both over WiFi and over a 3G connection. You can download the application from the Android Market or via Skype.com/m if you go there from your phone.

This year Sony Ericsson has accumulated all the best trends: devices on the latest version of Android 2.3 out of the box, an open bootloader , an update for the Xperia X10 , an abundance of partners, including game manufacturers, NFC solutions and, in fact, Skype.
