The number of free applications in the Android Market exceeded the number of those in the AppStore

A topic was published on Habré a while ago , according to which the percentage of free applications in the Android Market exceeds the percentage of such applications in the AppStore. Now Google has achieved an absolute result on this parameter. According to the report of the analytical company Distimo, published April 27, in the Android Market app store, the number of free applications exceeded the number of the same in the AppStore, and by a fairly significant amount. So the Google store contains 134,342 free applications, while the AppStore contains 121,845. On the other hand, the number of paid applications available in the Android Market is approximately one third of the number of paid applications that can be downloaded from the AppStore. Unfortunately, the report does not contain statistics on countries publishing free applications, and such statistics would be more than interesting.
The same report predicts that over the next five months, the Android Market will become the largest app store for mobile platforms.
