Opera 11.10 beta 1 - the first fish

    image

    In the slang of musicians (and many other professions), “fish” is just a sketch of some future masterpiece, or at least a work worthy of the attention of the audience. Today we also release "fish" - the new version of Opera is codenamed "Barracuda", and is also only a beta test version. However, our fish is quite stable afloat and suitable for quite active swimming on the stormy ocean of the Internet. The fish, although rich in history, still has sharp teeth and the ability to eat many careless neighbors.

    What you just read is a kind of allegory, a kind of beautiful art sketch for creative, dreamy people. Romantics in general. Readers with a materialistic outlook on life can translate all of the above for themselves like this: Opera has released another beta with a set of “built-in” bugs that would need to be identified and possibly fixed for a future final release. In principle - so, but not quite. In addition to quite understandable bugs (who works without them?), The new version also has something interesting, worthy of study and, as has already become a tradition, copying by others. I will give only a short list:

    - The new "endless" Express panel, which received new customization options;
    - New plugin download system;
    - Even faster JavaScript core and processor, support for new web standards;

    Well, enough for now. In fact, there are many more innovations - I leave you the opportunity to discover and evaluate them yourself.

    A short video about the new Express panel:
