Toshiba's first Wintel tablet

    About the new Toshiba tablet running on Android, which will be announced this spring, we have already reported. However, at the Mobile World Congress 2011, Toshiba introduced a prototype of another model, this time based on Windows 7.

    Wintel is a term that means a personal computer with Windows on board and an Intel processor. In this case, the new Toshiba tablet will run on the Intel Atom Oak Trail tablet platform. The diagonal of the display will be 11.6-inches, the amount of RAM is 2 GB, the tablet will also be equipped with 64-GB flash memory.

    The estimated period for the appearance of the model is the second half of the year. According to Marco Perino, head of digital solutions at EMEA Toshiba Computer Systems, the tablet may not be available in all regions, but based on a study of demand in local markets.
