Myriad Group today announced the release of Alien Dalvik, a Java machine that allows you to run Android OS applications on Maemo. As stated in the press release, “Alien” Dalvik can launch most of the applications built for Android without any changes, simply by rebuilding the apk software package. The best part is that all applications running in Alien Dalvik are absolutely native and look like native applications under Maemo. According to a press release, this Java machine will be available for purchase under the MeeGo OS this year. Despite the fact that only MeeGo support is claimed, the N900 with its native Maemo 5 participates in the demonstration, so users of this piece of iron can cross their fingers in the hope that future happiness will fall to them.
A public demonstration of Alien Dalvik is scheduled for the Mobile World Congress, taking place February 14-17 in Barcelona.
