Stellarium 0.10.6: A Short Guide

    Quick Guide Cover
The new version of Stellarium has acquired significant improvements to some of which I also had a hand in it. It's no secret that this wonderful planetarium is used not only by astronomy lovers, but also in astronomy classes at school. Stellarium has a comprehensive user manual, but unfortunately it suffers from two problems. The first problem is that the manual is comprehensive and in English, which for many residents of Russia is a significant obstacle to its use. The second problem is that this manual is somewhat outdated - the latter describes in detail the capabilities of planetarium version 0.10.2 and more. The Russian translation of this manual is very outdated - it describes version 0.8 - since then, not only the functionality of the program has changed but also its interface!

Impressed by the short tutorial by Australian astronomer Paul Lucas of the University of Western Australia, I decided to write a similar short guide to the latest version of Stellarium for Russian-speaking users of this planetarium. In addition, this planetarium is used in astronomy classes at our university, so I tried to write it in such a way that both a physics student and a teacher or amateur astronomy could use it.

The result is a short illustrated guide to the basic features of Stellarium'a exercises, which I dare to hope will appeal to many residents of Russia. Distributed my GNU Free Documentation License 1.3 guideand it can be downloaded in PDF format .

If you have comments or feedback on my work, then I am ready to listen to them. If someone wants to do something similar in other astronomical programs or in Stellarium, then I strongly welcome such undertakings and am ready to support them.
