Freehand notes: Evernote and Livescribe integration
Today we want to announce the integration with Livescribe , one of the most famous digital pen projects. Habrahabr already had a good overview , so we will not describe them in detail. These wonderful devices allow you to save handwritten notes in digital form directly in the pen memory during writing, which are subsequently downloaded to the computer using the appropriate software. Of course, with such Livescribe capabilities, integrating it with Evernote was simply inevitable.
As a first step in the new version of the Livescribe Desktop application (so far only for Windows, and the release for Mac is scheduled for October 18), users were able to send saved entries to their Evernote account as PNG images. There, the text of their handwritten notes is recognized by the proprietary technology of our service and indexed for subsequent convenient search. Livescribe also has a built-in voice recorder, and dictated recordings in the form of WAV files can also be exported to Evernote. At the same time, the notes themselves become accessible through the web interface, as well as on all computers and mobile devices of the user where Evernote is installed. applicationLivescribe Desktop can be installed for free. In the future, we plan to exchange data between Livescribe and Evernote devices even more simply and conveniently.
The Livescribe Echo and Pulse digital pens have another interesting feature: they work like digital voice recorders, attaching sound to a specific piece of text. By simply tapping a pen on some place in the text on paper, users can listen to the audio recording related to this text (this feature is also available in the Livescribe Desktop application). Notes and audio can also be found through Livescribe Desktop itself or Evernote.
