About one way to speed up and simplify bookmarking in DjVu and PDF documents
Hello, Khabravchans!
I want to share with you a solution to one small problem.
Often you have to read various technical e-books, which exist mainly in DjVu or PDF formats. It happens that there are no bookmarks in books, and reading technical documentation without the ability to quickly navigate through a document is inconvenient.
I did not want to spend a lot of time manually creating bookmarks, but I could not find any universal software on the Internet so that I could conveniently edit bookmarks immediately in DjVu and PDF documents. There is really one good viewer for DjVu and PDF - the program STDU Viewer. This program can create bookmarks and export them to an XML file, but it does not provide functions for writing created bookmarks to the document itself.
In addition, most documents have a text table of contents from which bookmarks could be created automatically.
In general, I began to think how this whole thing can be automated. As a result, I wrote a small utility that solves the above problems. I called her HandyOutliner.
During development, he emphasized the convenience and speed of working with the program.
The program is free. A page for downloading and with more detailed information is here .
I would be glad if someone comes in handy.
