Relatively new features in GMail labs: partial unmarking of reading and manual updating of POP accounts

    Massive bonjour.

UPD : The community scolded and reported that the features are not new at all. Nevertheless, not everyone knows about them - therefore I leave a post in place with the addition of a “relative” to the headline.

Today I once again discovered that sometimes it’s still useful to look into GMail labs. This time not as globally as last , but it can also be useful to someone. So, two new and, in my opinion, useful additions in the labs:

    Mark unread from here

It's simple - now you can mark as unread part of the thread instead of the whole thread. Select a specific message, go to the menu in its upper right corner and select “Mark Unread From Here” (not sure how the Russian version of the email will be). As a result, when returning to the thread, all of the following messages will be expanded. There is also no possibility (I confess, rather, desires) to test, but there is a chance that this will make only part of the messages in IMAP unread, since before, when I worked with GMail partly through the web, partly the IMAP client, it was terribly annoying that mark as unread in web- the interface marked unread all messages in the thread instead of, say, the last.

    Refresh POP accounts

But I just recently discovered a shortage of this - the ability to manually start checking the POP boxes from which I collect mail in a GMail account. Well, or rather, it was possible to do this by going to the settings of the mail collector and clicking "download" there - but it was very inconvenient. Now you can have the Refresh link in the top menu and pull out its ring in case of [urgent] need.

Such a short review, I hope someone comes in handy. Mercy for attention.
