Google voice + ipkall + sipnet == Call anywhere in the US for free

After I got pretty hooked on the virtual shopping needle, the question arose of finding a cheap solution to receive calls from American stores.
Naturally, you can buy a direct skype number, but it costs some, but money, and since you do not have to take calls from stores so often, you had to find a more economical solution.




So what do we need

• direct number in the USA so that the store can call us in case he wants to check the card holder or ask a question about the order
• an answering machine and voice mail so that a foreign comrade does not wake us up at 3 nights from his sunny California and does not run into selected Russian folklore of an awakened Russian
• the ability to make calls to direct numbers in the states, as well as toll-free numbers of the type 1-800, because some stores accept orders only by phone

The tasks are clear, we are looking for tools to solve it.

Google has long been an eyesore for its google voice, which I couldn’t think of how to use, but here it just plays a key role in our scheme, and our scheme is simple to disgrace.

We went around the points:

First you need to register, nothing complicated, you just need to find an American proxy, and they send invites right away and from the heart. If any difficulties arise, then the network already has a lot of working proxies and registration guidelines.

As you know, GVoice allows you to initiate calls according to the “custom call” scheme, that is, in the web interface you dial the number of the desired subscriber, and google voice connects both of you, sending a call to both your American number connected to google Voice and to the number the called party.

Therefore, already at the registration stage, we need to get a direct number in the USA to which google voice will call us. Here we proceed to the second step.

Again, there are many services that provide direct American numbers in the United States both for free and for hard currency . I don’t remember who advised me to use the services of the service with a funny name - ipkall - but the service is excellent. _{By the way, this is another of the mammoths that does not work without www.}
All we need from him is to register.


Registration is simple as felt boots:

- SIP Phone number - we drive our SIP number from the provider we use here. For sipnet, this is SIP ID
- SIP Proxy, respectively, proxy, for sipnet it is enough to enter sipnet.ru

end. There they redden us that they should not use it for 30 days, they will pick up the number, but experience shows that this is not so. After registering for ipkall, I successfully forgot about it, remembered after a couple of months, no one selected the number, but it's worth keeping in mind.

So, we registered, and received a direct number in the USA, which will automatically forward all calls to our SIP number.

3. google voice

After receiving the number in the USA from ipkall, we return to registration in google voice and honestly drive in the freshly received number. Google will call him and ask for a verification code. And then the call to our SIP number will be heard. We enter the necessary numbers, and voila.

We return to the google voice webcam on the settings page and see that our google voice number is now tied to the number from ipkall, which means that now we have a working solution for calls to the USA.


But not only is working, it is also absolutely free. After all, incoming calls to SIPNET are free, and google does not take a penny for initiating calls in the USA.
