Domain rutreker.org sold for 75 000 rubles

I would like to further explain the history of the domain rutreker.org, registered on the day torrents.ru moved to a new, well-known address. The beginning of the story is here .
After registering the domain, I tried to figure out what to do with it and with 4000-5000 people calling every day. I wanted to try different methods of monetization, which I would never use on normal SDLs. To contain traffic, a website was created with links to third-party torrent trackers. He performed his task quite well and after a month of existence, the site even had a core audience of 300 people. At the moment, the site has been transferred to the torrents.tw domain , but the story is not about him.

The site tested adSense (2 skyscrapers) and teasernet teasers. Adsense brought about $ 3-4 a day, less teasers, so they were removed. Since the attendance still continued to slowly fade away, and there was no desire to put my torrent tracker on, the question arose of whether to sell the domain to someone more interested.

First, a survey was conducted on the SE forum, in which the maximum offer was 30 thousand rubles. Later letters were written to all owners of well-known torrent trackers of Runet with a proposal to purchase. Most either did not answer or refused, someone, for example, the owners of the original rutracker.org, offered a maximum of $ 150. But torrentino.ru responded that they were ready to buy a domain for our price of $ 2500, and the deal took place. If traffic were more monetized, the price could be called underestimated, and so, given its slight extinction, it seemed adequate to both sides.

Meanwhile, the newspaper Vedomosti wrote an article Pirates without a network, in which they also confused the domain name (I quote: “a representative of the largest Russian file-sharing service rutreker.org”) and have not been fixed so far. Then the article was reprinted by securitylab.ru , pravo.ru and others. Here is such journalism.

This is where the story ends. Without morality, just like news.
