How I collected ru domains from one registrar

    UPD: Please note , this article describes outdated successful domain transfer experience.

    Hello, Habrasociety and its dear readers!

    Once I found out that smart people have been registering / renewing domains in the ru zone for 99 rubles for a long time at a partner of the REG.RU registrar - 2domains.ru. Thought "some kind of swindle." But, the day came when I needed to register a domain, cheaper and faster. “What the hell is not joking,” I thought, and registered at 2domains.ru. I transferred 99 rubles from Webmoney, then filled out a simple questionnaire (the person to whom the domain is registered - the same information is also displayed in whois). Indicated the domain name and pressed the treasured button "register a domain"!

    The most unexpected was that the information in the whois-service was updated within 3 minutes. Well, I think "they have their own whois for wiring." But there it was! In any whois, the data on the newly registered domain was! I set the name-servers offered by the registrar and began to manage my DNS records from their panel. Speaking of the panel, the control panel is very convenient and fast-working (if someone is interested, you can see it yourself, again - "to taste and color").

    Time flew inexorably ... :)

    The time has come to renew the domain - renewed again without any problems, everything is fast, clear. I registered for 99 rubles, and extended it for them. For a year, there was not a single problem with DNS. I was also very pleased with the support service - fast, correct, polite. And then I was visited by the idea that we need to collect all our ru-shny domains in one place, because I don’t want to pay exorbitant prices (especially when I felt the registration / renewal for 99 rubles) + it’s more convenient to manage from one panel and not from three + Reg.ru opened an office in St. Petersburg.

    I remembered where and what domains I have, it turned out:
    - Two in Garant-Park-Telecom - registration 590 rubles, renewal 415 rubles (r01.ru);
    - Two in Ragtime - registration 390 rubles, extension 390 rubles (webnames.ru).

    He began to learn how to do it. I read the FAQ and asked for support for fidelity (where would it be without this).
    The process of transferring domains from one registrar to another is simple - a letter with a statement to Regtime and to Garant-Perk-Telecom and they will give the domains to Reg.ru. But everything wasn’t so simple, everything turned out to be - it was necessary to write real letters (paper) and the statements should be notarized.

    I downloaded the application template (can be found on registrar sites). Garant-Park-Telecom - Moscow (that is, letters will go at least 10 days), Ragtime - Samara (even longer than to Moscow). Of course, I was sad, but the toad is stronger. “Register! Renew! ” :) I printed out the application and went to the nearest notary. The notary turned out to be a woman in age and looked at my statements “about some domains” with frankly big eyes, but she assured my signatures. On the same day I rushed to the post office. Long thought how to send. As a result, I decided to send it by registered mail with declared value (with a list of contents).

    Letters went to Garant-Park-Telecom 14 days from the moment of sending. On the day they received the letters, they notified me by email. I added the domains for transfer to the Reg.ru control panel and within an hour the previous registrar released them. Half of the "quest" was completed :)

    Before Ragtime, the news came nine days later, i.e. letters went from St. Petersburg to Samara for 23 days.
    The letter indicated that the domains will be transferred to Reg.ru if I send them a scan copy of the passport. Sent right away. After a couple of hours, the domains were transferred.

    All that was left was to transfer the domains directly inside Reg.ru to their partner 2domains.ru.
    To do this, I downloaded the corresponding application from their website, printed it, signed it and sent a scan of the signed application + a scan-copy of the passport to their mail (with the request to transfer the domains to such and such a partnership agreement). The original letter and a copy of the passport must be attributed / sent by mail to the office of Reg.ru. And since the office is now in my city - in the next couple of days I will take it personally :)

    So, the money spent (transport costs are not taken into account):
    - Two notarized signatures - 2x200 = 400 rubles;
    - Two envelopes - 2x4 = 8 rubles;
    - Two registered letters with declared value - 2x105 = 210 rubles;
    - A photocopy of the passport at the Russian Post = 14 rubles.

    Total: 632 rubles + 23 days of waiting and your domains in one place!

    Thanks for the karma - moved the topic from the blog in "About Hosting and Domains"! :)

    PS: In no case do I want to advertise anyone and nothing, but all the names and organizations are real. I hope my experience will be useful to the Habrasociety and its esteemed readers!
