Choosing a CMS for an online store

If you are currently at the stage of choosing an engine for an online store or plan to do this later, perhaps this short review will help you. In the near future, I am going to do e-commerce, namely the opening of an online store. In a successful scenario, perhaps I can please the habrasociety with interesting articles on this topic, but for now, I offer you a short review of the engines and a topic for discussion.
The requirements that we formulated for the engine:
- Flexible extensibility
- SEO (CNC, the ability to register meta tags for each product, etc.)
- Convenient admin panel
- Multilingualism (multilingual content)
- The system of promotions and discounts
- The ability to compare products ( not critical, but very desirable )
- Support for payment systems ( not critical, but desirable )
Further, after analyzing the nth number of engines, we stopped our choice, for a more detailed analysis, on the following:
Drupal and OpenCart are free solutions, as for OpenCart, it’s difficult to draw any conclusions here, I’m not familiar with this system, but I had little experience with Drupal, I liked the whole system. The flexibility and extensibility that it provides allows you to do almost anything, which is probably why our choice is currently leaning towards it.
WebAsyst Shop-Script, this is a commercial product, the cost of which varies from 7, 950 rubles. up to 19.950 rubles. depending on the number of modules required. According to the developers themselves, the system is expandable, as far as I know, I can’t judge.
We also considered UMI.CMS and in general, the system fully met our requirement, but the cost was too high, 29,990 rubles. played a role and we were forced to abandon it.
By the way, the cost of WebAsyst Shop Script has also increased, but there is still a discount, but it’s important to note that back in December, you could buy the full version for ~ 7 thousand rubles, and the crossed out price was ~ 13,950 rubles . Now they have raised the main (crossed out) price and are selling at a “discount”, all for 13,950 rubles. Tricks. :)
It is also important to note another point, extensibility. This is a rather critical moment for our online store, as not one of the finished products fully meets our sufficiently high requirements. Accordingly, before choosing a CMS, you also need to understand the price that you need to pay for extensions.
Unfortunately, the deadlines are running out and I can’t realize the initial idea. It was planned to do a detailed review of the various engines of online stores, but due to many circumstances and time, this does not work, so I propose to bring this topic into discussion.
I would be very grateful for the advice and recommendations regarding the choice of the engine for the online store.
