Top CEOs by Harvard Business Review

Harvard Business Review magazine ranked the best CEOs , and did not bother with all sorts of managerial qualities and other immeasurable charisma, but considered "pure money". The money that the company earned during its work by the CEO in one way or another for its shareholders (dividends, but not only), weighted against general indicators in the country and industry. A little more detail about the calculation methodology of Total Shareholders Return (TSR) can be found here , if interested.

The presence of Gazprom Miller in the rating, of course, causes a wild laugh, but nothing, you can forgive this for egg-headed Harvard editors. What I personally found curious is that in the Top 50 best managers only 10-15 people have MBA crusts. Kakbe had previously understood that MBAs are not acquired for some secret managerial knowledge, but for compliance with the rules of a career game in the West. But judging by the rating, the presence of crusts is not even the rule of the game.

There are practically no women, but the only one in the top ten brought eBay to what it is now - in fact, a monopolist in the auction market. After her dismissal due to the acquisition of Skype, the company, it seems to me, began to quickly go crazy and mutate. Now it remains only to wait until Google negotiates with one of the small auctioneers or launches its site - and eBay is over.

Almost all CEOs work in their countries of birth, and if for some Korean-Chinese-Japanese this is understandable, then the isolation of Europeans-Americans looks strange. No, it turns out, no globalization, if we are talking about the highest level of governance.

The rest is predictable - Steve Jobs in the first place, Chambers-iron-cis-duct, Ballmer is not listed, there are a lot of energy and consumer goods. And there are many people whose biographies it makes sense to at least skim through.
