Extension Gallery open to developers

Today Google launched the extension gallery , but so far it is available only to extension developers, at the moment you can only download your extension and wait for it to be verified, and you need to download not a finished * .crx file but a ZIP folder with the extension.

Now the process of updating extensions will be simple, after the new version is ready, you just need to download to them and then it will be updated by other users.

PS. If you get this error when loading, but you are sure that you have a manifest file, then most likely it is in the wrong encoding.


For example, I had it in UTF8, but should be in UTF-8 without BOM
