Monopoly Building Model Competition Hasbro: Hasbro, the company behind Monopoly City Streets, has just announced a competition that will give users the opportunity to create building models that can appear in the game. Until October 6, create your building model using Google SketchUp , and then upload it to  Google 3D Warehouse . Within 48 hours, your model will appear in the official collection of buildings competitions (Building Competition Collection). The more buildings you create, the higher the chances of winning. Make sure your buildings are shipped before October 6; and the winners will be announced on October 13th.

Google Wave:A lot of the anticipated Google Wave project is scheduled to open to more than 100,000 new users tomorrow. Although it is primarily a means of collaboration, it also has enormous potential for the world of cartography. Pamela Fox of Google has been working on the Google Maps Wave gadget for some time now, and today she previewed it. The integration of Maps and Waves is just a brilliant idea, as you will see in the video below. In addition to simple Maps, I expect that for Google Earth we will see a plug-in gadget by the time not so far away. Take a look at this video - you will see what they managed to cook:
