
Online conferences with web developers
Every week we hold online conferences with famous web developers and other famous web workers. I want to present you a small report for September.
Most recently, we held a conference with Sergei Chikuenk ( announcement ) - technical consultant at Artemy Lebedev Studio. There were many interesting questions, to which Sergey gave detailed answers. Here are some of them:
Evgeny Nasyrov : Hello, Sergey! Tell us about the most interesting project in which you participated.
Sergey Chikuyonok : My most interesting and favorite project is Parity98. I remember it not so much with the abundance of various animations for one page (some of which, unfortunately, did not appear on the site), but with its concept: the site in one line. This was the main difficulty - you had to insert blocks into the text line, and even slide them apart smoothly ... ( read whole )
Inko: Some urge people to help get rid of IE6 (upgrading to something new) by showing a line with an appeal and links at the top of the page (for example, ie6update.com ). Sergey, what is your attitude to such initiatives? Is it worth putting on a site, or is it nonsense :-)?
Sergei Chikuyonok : I have nothing against such a line - the method is good and correct, only you need to show this strip no more than 3 times per session, so as not to bother. The main thing is that the site works fine in IE6. Let without any frills and beauty, but the basic functionality and content should be available. What I am really opposed to is ... ( read more )
Waldemar Mozhaikin: Sergey, is the creation of HTML5 sites justified right now? Or should you wait until the old browsers are driven out of the market and only those supporting this technology remain?
