Microsoft will publish in the kernel of Linux its code under GPLv2

imageFor many, the news will be a big surprise, consisting in the fact that Microsoft intends to publish “thousand” lines of its code in the main Linux kernel branch. Naturally, under the GPLv2 license and with the blessing of open-source leaders.

This initiative is aimed at promoting and improved support under the Linux platform of the Hyper-V virtualization server, a relatively new successful Microsoft product.

Microsoft previously entered into virtualization partnerships with Linux vendors Novell and Red Hat.

    Such things, guys :)
