Prescroll

It just so happened that there are sausage sites. These are sites where you need to turn the mouse wheel for a long time and hard to get to the end of the page. At the same time, it is not always convenient to use standard methods for scrolling a page (mouse wheel, arrows, Page Up, Page Down).

Here's what it looks like in a browser:

In this case, I would like to more clearly see where in the page you are, what is above and what is below.

My idea of improving sausage navigation is as follows.

The site makes PreScroll - a hybrid of prewiewer and scrolling.

The principle of action combines the capabilities of the Navigator in Photoshop and the usual scrollbar.

PreScroll is executed in the form of a thumbnail of the screenshot of the page, the visible area of the page is outlined in red. Scrolling can be performed using all the same standard methods and the mouse.

Thus, PreScroll strengthens the connection between visual and kinesthetic on the site, which significantly improves the usability of the site. It is much nicer to “grab” and “drag” the page itself (or its thumbnail) than the abstract crap. And it looks much prettier :-)

    Here's how it might look:

A new scrollbar can be implemented both on the sites themselves using css and javasсript tools, or as a browser plug-in. Naturally, the design design can be absolutely anything.
