Ted Talks - Silverlight 3 TED Video Player
The thirteen23 development team does not cease to amaze us with its interesting developments. They combine excellent services (such as Twitter , Netflix , etc.) with powerful technologies (WPF and Silverlight), and as a result release applications that we enjoy using. Let me remind you that it was these people who released the Twitter client Blu .
And today their new development - TED Talks - was born. What it is? This is a video player that allows you to conveniently view videos from TED.com(on this site smart people share their vision of the present and future). Moreover, this application was made using Silverlight 3 technology. It was in the third version of SL that support for working outside the browser appeared, which TED Talks uses.
Actually, to install the application, you first need to install Silverlight 3 Developer Runtime (Windows and Mac are supported) from this page. After that, go to the TED Talks application website and click the “Install” button. A pop-up window will appear in which you need to choose where to put the shortcut for the application: After starting the application, you can immediately start watching the video: You can search for the video of interest to you:
Unfortunately, a video with a Russian translation cannot be viewed through the application. I hope that in a future version of the program this will be fixed.
In general, a very interesting application that demonstrates the work of the new SL3 feature. Give it a try! :)
