Windows 7. Burning discs

    It so happened that having installed Windows 7 (RC 7100), I did not take any interest in programs for burning CD / DVDs, including creating and burning images. I relied on Roxio Creator, which I used on both Windows XP and Windows Vista.
    Accordingly, one fine day, at the right time, I realized that Roxio on Win7 does not work, moreover, it completely freezes the system and only the Reset button helps. I found a solution in the form of copying the milcore.dll library, downloaded from the Internet, to system32. Did not help. The same result.
    Okay, realizing that you can forget about Roxio for a while, downloaded Nero , got a trial key, installed it and surprised the result no less: the system thought for a long time, after which it rebooted involuntarily. I did not look for solutions for Nero.

    He complained about the problem to his friends, was very surprised when he found out that they were not even interested in solving this issue, but stupidly returned to the old OSes.

    Rummaging around Google, I found a couple of programs: one for burning discs (BurnAware Free ), the second one works fine with images ( ImgBurn ), as I was convinced later. I did not even suspect these softinks. Poking around with them for half a day and was pleased.

    It should be noted that the programs are free (there are limitations in BurnAware)
    And now the slides (as in the old joke):

    Burnware free

    Nothing complicated. Three types of disks (CD, DVD, Blue-Ray), each has its own window, the same functions.
    Burnware free
    The window for selecting files (in my case, just Data disc)
    Window for selecting files
    is Russian

    Imgburn

    notice how simple and clear everything is and the
    Imgburn
    window with a huge bunch of settings
    Imgburn
    contains the Russian language (it is available on the program download page, though not all is translated).

    In general, I was satisfied and I see only huge advantages:
    Free (important!);
    There are no unnecessary “features”, such as the creation of any slideshows, viewers of media content (such as players, and programs for viewing photos);
    Intuitive interface, nothing more;
    Works on Windows 7, which is the most important.

    I apologize for not painting the features, the settings. I believe that manufacturers should deal with such reviews.

    Why did I write this?
    I haven’t seen resources anywhere that don’t bundle software, namely, they overlook;
    I have never seen any list of software for Windows 7, the so-called "Must have";
    I think that not one got into such a situation with burning a disc.

    I hope I helped anyone but myself. I never wrote reviews of programs, so get my opus right.

    Once again, download links:
    BurnAware Free (8.55 MB)
    ImgBurn (1.94 MB + Russian language 20.6 KB)

    PS Dear, if someone uses some interesting and free software for burning (for Win7, respectively), write you are welcome.

    UPD Thank you Xmpe for the InfraRecorder program.
