Microsoft will help port Node to Windows
- Transfer
I am pleased to announce that Microsoft, in collaboration with Joyent, will provide resources for porting Node to Windows. As you might have heard earlier this year, we started work on a native port on Windows - with the goal of using the high-performance IOCP API.
This work requires a significant modification of the basic structure, and we are very pleased that we now receive official guidance and engineering resources from Microsoft. From Rackspace also allocated time Bert Belder to do the job.
The result will be an official binary release of node.exe published on nodejs.org, which will run on Windows Azure and other versions of Windows starting with Windows Server 2003.
