    Ford will equip Opera's browser with built-in car computers with broadband Internet access - part of the Ford Work Solutions technology package for trucks and vans

    Owners of Ford F-150 and Super Duty pickups and E vans -Series and Transit Connect will now be able to fully work on the Internet without leaving their cars. This opportunity is given by the Ford Work Solutions technology package, which includes the first industrial Ford on-board computer with the built-in Opera browser.

    Owners of Ford trucks and vans, including entrepreneurs, builders, farmers, businessmen and representatives of other industries, can use the built-in Opera browser to access the most important business applications, site plans, sales and stock information, and work with business databases contacts, calendar, e-mail and even view the latest weather reports. The computer, equipped with the Opera browser, a Bluetooth interface for connecting the printer and other technologies, turns the new Ford trucks and vans into real mobile offices.

    Ford Work Solutions - a set of original technologies, including "intelligent" solutions for full Internet browsing, tool and material management, access to remote computers, fleet management and their on-board systems, as well as safety features. Ford Work Solutions provides Ford car owners with mobile office capabilities and the ability to solve business needs, even in the field.

    The Ford Work Solutions computer is installed in a standard car radio compartment on the car dashboard. It is equipped with a 6.5-inch high-resolution color touch screen, 4 GB of memory, an SD card slot, a USB port, as well as a wireless keyboard and mouse. To work with the touch display, a stylus is provided, which is stored next to the slot for loading CDs. In addition, a Ford-certified Bluetooth battery-powered inkjet printer is included.

    All four Ford Work Solutions technologies, including the Opera browser, are supported in the 2009 Ford F-150 XL, STX, XLT pickups, as well as the F-Series Super Duty XL, XLT and FX4. They are also available in all E-series vans released this year, and Transit Connect models will join the Ford Work Solutions range in mid-2009.
