“Gifts” in social networks - new ideas

Many social networks offer users such a paid service as “gifts”. Usually these are symbolic tokens presented in the form of pictures that can be presented to another user by paying a gift with an SMS. Typical gift prices range from a dollar to $ 7 per item.



We thought: what can be invented new, unusual, interesting in this area? And they devoted the topic of gifts to the recent meeting of the Brain Exchange club . The meeting participants generated new thoughts in a brainstorming format, so some of the ideas may seem strange or inappropriate - but they can certainly be developed into something useful. We share these ideas with everyone. So, what did we come up with (in the order of ideas):

• You can give users other paid services - pay an additional rating, paid account, etc.
• Material gifts - the opportunity to give an item that is sold through the Internet: books, toys, household appliances, etc. Can be realized by concluding partnership agreements with online stores. Moreover, the user receives a virtual picture in the profile ("they gave me a book") and a real gift.
• A collective gift (one of the leader ideas :) is an opportunity for several users to chip in one expensive gift for a mutual friend!
• Integration with users wishlists . In this case, each friend of the user can make a small part of the cost of SMS.
• Possibility peredarivat gifts - give a gift to another bored.
• Gifts that are valid for a limited period of time — for example, flowers that disappear (“fade”) after 3-5 days.
• Interactive gifts - animals that need to be fed, flowers that need to be watered so that they do not wilt. As an option - paid interactive, the user should support their livelihoods by sending SMS or spending points on the site.
• Useful widget - the ability to give additional blocks to the profile - a weather widget, exchange rates, jokes or traffic jams.
• Encouragement for giving - gave 10 bears, got a flower (or just a rating)
• Anti - gifts - something that interferes with the recipient or spoils the appearance of his page (for example, "blots" on the page that cover part of his profile)
• Voting for gifts presented - other users can vote for a gift in the owner’s profile, this brings him (and the donor too) a rating increase.
• To give a “cat-in-a-bag” - the ability to buy and give is not known :) What exactly you gave is determined after giving (or only the recipient sees it at all).
• Compound gifts - a gift consists of many pieces and is assembled like a puzzle. You can buy it yourself and ask for the remaining parts as a gift. The assembled puzzle brings a rating.
• Licensed content as a gift (mp3, photo, e-book, etc.) is a great idea for affiliate programs with other resources.
• Give a simplified account - for older users :) All unnecessary features are removed and only the simplest ones remain.
• Giving tiny moons on the moon (e.g. 10 to 10 centimeters)
• Congratulation choral - an opportunity for several users to record their voices, from which a single audio file with congratulations is made.
