Facebook answers the challenge from Twitter
Yesterday, Facebook announced a series of upcoming changes to the main page (see layout ), profile page and activity flows. All together, all these innovations (Zuckerberg calls them "philosophical") clearly suggest that the world's largest social network takes seriously into account the growing popularity of Twitter as a system for broadcasting messages outside the circle of friends.
List of major changes.
1. Facebook blurs the line between closed profiles and open pages, that is, profiles can now be made open.
2. The limit of 5,000 friends is removed for public pages.
3. The speed of updating activity flows increases (it used to be 10 minutes, now it will be close to real time, as on Twitter).
4. In the current feed, you can now not only add your status, but right there you can add links, photos and videos (again, like on Twitter).
Everything is logical. If Facebook cannot buy Twitter , then you have to develop the missing functionality yourself.
