Skype will be on Nokia phones

Skype and Nokia announced the signing of a partnership agreement, according to which the Skype program will be ported to phones of the Finnish manufacturer. First, Skype will be put on the top N-series. The first with Skype on board will be the flagship model N97, sales of which begin in June 2009.

Skype will be integrated into the N97 address book, which will show the status of users in the contact list. It will be possible to use skype chat. And, most importantly, it will be possible to use full-fledged VoIP-telephony via 3G or WiFi at ultra-low (compared to the prices of mobile operators) SkypeOut rates. Including free Skype to Skype calls. The main thing is that the mobile operators themselves do not block this "hostile" functionality, which undermines their core business.

Nokia is not the only one who recently announced a partnership with Skype. On Monday, Sony Ericsson announced the "Skype panel" on the phone Windows Mobile Xperia1.
